S. Cunliffe is a British citizen who has travelled extensively and lived in both the Netherlands and the USA. She now lives in the South West of England and works in Wales. Over the course of her life she has been an avid observer of the British Royal Family. Living in other countries has given her a unique perspective on how the Royal Family is thought of in other countries and by people from many different cultures and backgrounds. This dual interest in the Royal Family and different cultures were what prompted her to write the Purple Orchid which is her first work of fiction.
